The Real Estate Management Industry News Network posted an article on their website on January 19, 2017 announcing that the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC) says LEED registered projects in Canada now total more than one billion square feet.

In 2016, Ontario had the highest number of certified projects closely followed by Quebec. In total, 406 projects were LEED certified between January 1 and December 31, 2016 bringing the grand total of certified projects in Canada to 2,990.

Sheet steel building products such as steel studs, steel roofing and cladding, steel roof and floor deck and steel building systems are a natural fit for LEED projects and can be a great asset in achieving LEED certification.

The CSSBI has put together all the information you need to help incorporate sheet steel building products into your LEED project. If you are certifying under the LEED Canada 2009 version click here and if you are certifying under LEEDv4 click here to find all the information you need.

You can also contact the CSSBI office and speak to our LEED AP for more information.
